performance

Performance has continually implied and been associated to a sense of accomplishment. An action of a spectacular nature in which it capably fulfils its intended purpose. However, our recent generation of performers have taken this definition and contorted its importance and consequence, leaving their audience outraged, perplexed, shaken or, perhaps, sympathetic. The 21 century’s perception of performance still encompasses a purpose and to some extent an accomplishment, yet in some instances it may be a demanding proposition of its audience to fully comprehend what that exactly is.
Today, what constitutes as a performance can have an entirely different implications.
The growth of our web 2.0 family suggests at some point you yourself will be the performer, whether you know it now or not. This is something I hope to touch upon at a later date.
